“ Pipo curry ramen is amazing! Especially the soft boiled egg with its gooey center. The curry broth is to die for and everything about this ramen is delicious. Wish there was less ice in the Thai tea. ”
“ Words can't describe how good the soft shell crab curry ramen. It was so good I wish I can go back in time and experience it again for the first time. My girlfriend got the beef ramen with pork and was also very delicious. We would be coming here again. ”
“ Great food, soo good. Boat noodle soup, pipo salad and pad Thai. Nice staff, clean restaurant. ”
“ Service was great! It was my first time eating there since I was visiting. When I got in, I had some questions that the manager and my server answered for me. They were very helpful. I ordered the pork skin stirfry with veggies and it was GREAT! The small salad on the side threw me off a bit but it didn't bother me. The softshell crab padthai was also GREAT! Sweetness with the good portion of softshell crab meat was good. When I come back, I will probably go again and try new things on the menu. ”
“ This place has been on my bookmark list since they opened, and I finally got a chance to check them out for lunch today. Let me tell you......it was so worth the wait! With the weather being a little chilly today, I ordered the boat noodle soup, the crispy chicken fried rice, and of course, the Thai tea. I mean, you have to get Thai tea at a Thai restaurant, it's a must! The space itself is open, inviting, and the decor is cute, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. As soon as my soup arrived, it smelled amazing! I ordered it at level 2 spiciness (on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being HOT), and that first slurp of noodles and broth was everything I hoped for, it was rich, flavorful, and truly hit the spot. Boat noodle soup can vary so much between places, but I can confidently say Pipo has mastered this dish. I've tried it at other Thai restaurants in the Sacramento area, and hands down, this is the spot for boat noodle soup! It was perfect. I didn't have to ask for a single thing. The Thai chili in fish sauce was brought out at the same time! The crispy chicken was exactly as described, very crispy and delicious. It came with two sauces: one sweet and creamy, and the other a light version of sweet chili sauce. Both sauces complimented the chicken. As for the fried rice, it was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Every bite was delicious. To top it off, the owner asked how our food was, and we happily shared how much we enjoyed our lunch. By the end of our meal, I was in a food coma, that's how satisfying it was. Pipo Ramen & Rice has officially become my new favorite Thai spot in Sacramento, and I can't recommend them enough. You'll definitely have to come check them out! ”
“ I've stopped into Pipo Ramen and Rice a few times now and enjoyed both dine in and take out experiences. It's a bit out of the way, but well worth the drive and I find myself craving their soups all the time. They have a large parking lot shared with the businesses around it, and parking is always easy. The restaurant is pretty open and well lit with plenty of seating. They mostly have four tops, but that could easily be adjusted for slightly larger groups. The owners are very nice and cook the food as well. They can get busy, so I either call my order in for takeout or plan plenty of time to enjoy my dine in experience. My favorite dishes so far are the Boat Noodle Soup ($15.95) and the Pipo Tom Yum Seafood Ramen ($16.95). I crave these all the time, but I've also tried to explore more of the items on their menu like the curry and noodle dishes, which are also delicious. I'm excited to continue coming back for more! ”
“ Definitely one of the best Thai places in the area! Pad Thai is hands down my favorite noodle dish and I'm always looking for a good Pad Thai. They use the correct noodles, it's not dry or overly saucy, and the flavors are perfect. The spice level can also be adjusted. The crispy pork belly and karaage chicken are also great starters. They have a good mix of Thai and Japanese foods. Can't go wrong with either! I've dined in and also done delivery and the food tastes great every time. The service is always fast and the workers are super friendly and helpful. Inside is nice and clean. They have a cute bathtub as a seating area as well. Definitely keeping this place as my go to Thai spot! ”
“ Order: Boat noodle, lao papaya, Olieng (Thai ice coffee), and karage. This place serves a mixture of different Asian food which is great for wanting different dishes. Boat noodle is solid. Papaya is a bit too sweet and not enough heat. Need more dank. Karage was what I expected from a place that serves a bunch of items. Would definitely be back and have this on my regular list. ”
“ A low key Thai-Japanese fusion spot with nicely executed flavor combos. Dishes I tried: CHICKEN KARAAGE : nice battering (not overly battery or oily), comes with 2 sauces which are both tasty. PIPO CURRY RAMEN : a rich broth with balanced notes of coconut and curry. The noodles are perfect texture--not too chewy, starchy, thick, or thin! PAD SEE-EW : was VERY salty for me. Portion size was also a bit small, though with how salty the dish was, that wasn't the biggest huge issue for me. Overall, I'd recommend this as a spot to check out if you're curious about a Thai-Japanese fusion concept--I know that's what drew me in the first place. But, I'd definitely look into asking for reduced salt levels if your palette leans on the blander side. ”
“ The place has decent amount of seatings and is well lit. The menu is not huge; which is a good sign (personally) for a local restaurant. They mainly focus on Thai/Japanese fusion dishes. Ordered: Karaage Chicken, Beef Pad See Ew, Pipo Curry Ramen Karaage chicken is good. The batter is thin and seasoned well. The chicken is not dry and quite flavorful. The homemade dipping sauces are a great addition. The mayo/sriracha (assuming) sauce isn't dense. This light texture sauce is more enjoyable since the chicken is already deep fried. I like the sweet chili sauce because it adds a bit of sweetness to the chicken and balance out the flavor. Beef Pad See Ew is a bit salty for me, but it could just be only that time. I have to say the noodle and veggies are super flavored from the sauce. If it is less salty, it would be great. The beef is a bit dry, even with the sauce but it's not a dealbreaker. The server is very helpful in recommending spice level. There are 5 levels and I agree that level 2 is a comfortable spot. I'm not good with spice but level 2 isn't too bad. The Pipo Curry Ramen is delicious. The noodles are cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The egg is seasoned well and slightly runny. The broth is on the light side in comparison to other ramen places, but I think it worked out since the curry flavor is already bold. The chicken is thinly cut, which is different. However, I do wish it is a bit thicker to avoid tasted dry. I wouldn't mind trying other dishes next time I'm around the area. ”
